Gilber Gilmore wasn’t always a prominent New York City fashion designer. He was born in Tel Aviv and moved to the Big Apple in 1993 to pursue a music career. As the city buzzed to life before him, so did his passions for music and design. Equally at home in the worlds of both rock 'n' roll and fashion, Gilmore earned his living as a guitar player in the city's clubs while also working in the stalls of SoHo's flea markets. During that time, he developed a music-meets-streetwear fashion sensibility as well as an expert eye for fit, fabric, movement, and style. The collision of these two worlds is still reflected in many of his pieces.

It didn’t take long for him to become a fashion visionary. In 1995, he launched his eponymous line, Gilber Gilmore. Celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Paula Abdul, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and Paris Hilton became fans of his contemporary, body-hugging silhouettes. Since then, his clothing has been sold in retail stores throughout the United States and internationally.

More than 25 years later, Gilber Gilmore continues to design unique pieces that always fit with the times. At the center of his long-term success has been his signature ability to incorporate trendy elements of electrifying New York City into classic pieces that never go out of style.
